14 Days of Smoothies!

Due to the fact that I have recently transformed my kitchen into a smoothie lab, I have officially decided to take on a serious challenge over the next 14 Days! I am challenging myself to only drink power packed smoothies for breakfast and lunch! Some may say that it is a little over the top, but I believe that I can do it, and I would love for you to join me! In fact, the reason that I have decided to blog about this experience is to simply keep myself accountable. It is my goal to enjoy a delicious smoothie for breakfast and lunch each day. I am taking on this challenge as the last "bikini blowout" assurance before the beach! I would like to suggest that if you decide to take on this exciting challenge with me that you should, in addition, be taking a multivitamin once a day. This is very important because there may be certain vitamins and minerals that you may miss, even though we will be consuming lots of fruits and vegetables! There will not be any meat involved in our smoothies, but we will be adding protein powder to our smoothies!

Each day I am going to share with you the yummy smoothie recipes I indulged in that day! I will also include the recipes for you too! Today I had a "Banana/ Almond Butter Smoothie" for breakfast, and the "Sexy Green Goddess" smoothie for lunch. Both of these smoothies were delicious, and packed full of tasty fruits and vegetables! I was very satisfied after drinking these smoothies, and was not craving more food immediately. Therefore, I can honestly admit that they are very filling, and you will not still feel hungry after drinking them. I do want to emphasize that you should give yourself at least 15-20 minutes after drinking the smoothie before reaching for a snack! Your body needs that time to register that it has had enough nutrients. After saying that though I do want to encourage you to have "healthy snacks" in between smoothies if you are feeling hungry. Some "healthy snack" ideas are: Pear and cheese stick, carrots and cheese stick, 1 serving of almonds, Luna bar with apple, apple and peanut butter. Just make sure to keep your snack small, and don't over do it. Trust me, I know that it is tempting! Here are the recipes for my smoothies today! I hope that you try them out and enjoy them! Let me know what you think! Happy smoothie making!
